This episode of Baseball Brilliance kicks off a series of episodes titled ‘Hit and Run’ episodes; these will be quick 5-10 minute episodes that will cover a wide variety of podcasts.
In this Hit and Run episode, Aaron talks about his personal nutrition and the diet that he has begun using. The two key parts of this diet are intermittent fasting and cycling.
Cycling is the process of alternating the number of calories that are taken in. This element focuses on hormone utilization and feeding the body correctly. For example, this diet encourages eating differently based on the type of physical activity that the dieter will be doing that day.
Intermittent fasting, a more popular dieting element, is limiting food intake to specific hours in the day. Aaron has set an 8-hour window in the day where he eats all of his allotted calories; the other 16 hours are devoted to fasting.
The theory behind intermittent fasting comes from the early development of human beings. In this time, human beings were accustomed to going long droughts without food and consumed their calories in short periods of time.
Aaron asserts that this is a part of human anatomy still today and that the body thrives under this type of diet. He learned about this kind of diet initially when he underwent knee surgery, and he wanted to focus on keeping weight down to put less pressure on his knee as it was in the healing process.
Both of these methods of Aaron’s diet have been able to keep him in the type of shape he desires, reach out to him for more information on how he learned about this diet and methods.
